We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified Dietitian with paediatric experience to join our Paediatric team. The post holder will manage their own caseload and work across multiple sites within County Durham & Darlington NHS Foundation Trust.

About Us: We are a proactive department with a strong focus on service improvement, digital advancement and staff development. We offer a preceptorship programme for new staff, regular clinical supervision and numerous CPD opportunities to support career progression. We provide hospital services from multiple sites and care in community settings and patients' homes. We particularly welcome applications from disabled and Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) candidates as BAME and disabled people are currently under-represented.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage an own caseload referred to the Paediatric Dietetics service by community or secondary care professionals.
  • Provide care in a variety of settings including hospital wards, outpatient clinics, school or nursery settings, and telephone clinics.
  • Work closely with other paediatric Dietitians, paediatric Home Enteral Feeding Dietitians and the wider multidisciplinary team.
  • Participate in student training planning, co-ordination and assessment (A, B and C placements).
  • Provide support across the Nutrition and Dietetic service, which includes secondary care, bariatrics, primary care, diabetes services, Home Enteral Feeding and paediatrics across four sites in County Durham and Darlington.
  • Be based at Darlington Memorial Hospital with coverage across locality sites as required.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Essential: BSc(Hons) Dietetics or equivalent; HCPC registration; clinical supervisory skills; leadership training.
  • Desirable: Master’s degree; membership of BDA paediatric group and related groups; experience with paediatric growth concerns; audit and research experience.
  • Significant post-registration experience; experience in a variety of clinical settings including paediatrics; MDT experience.

Special Requirements:

  • Able to meet the travel requirements of the post.
  • UK/EU visa and professional registration compliance as required.
