Overview

Community Staff Nurse – Charity Society

We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Easington South Durham Coast Community Nursing Team. The successful applicant will work across Easington South and surrounding areas from an office base in Peterlee. The team covers 8am–9pm, 7 days a week on a duty roster. The role involves providing holistic nursing care to adult patients in their own home or residential care setting. Successful applicants must hold a first level nursing registration with the NMC; additional role-specific training can be provided.

Responsibilities

  • The Community Nursing team provides planned and reactive care including Urgent Community Response.
  • Provide a variety of nursing care to patients (e.g., wound care, administration of medication, palliative care, bowel and catheter care).
  • Assess patient care needs, plan and deliver care, and review outcomes.
  • Work independently as part of the wider Nursing team and report to senior staff on duty.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Essential: 1st Level Registration with the NMC (Adult)
  • Registered Nurse (adult or Child) on Part 1 of the NMC register; valid UK NMC PIN
  • Able to travel across Trust sites to meet post requirements
  • Current UK professional registration

  • Knowledge of issues in community nursing
  • Knowledge of Intermediate Care
  • Knowledge of key policy drivers for health and social care
  • Experience of audit/research; clinical supervision; evidence of recent ongoing nursing development
