We are looking for a qualified accountant to join our board as Finance Director. Although we are not a charity, we are a not-for-profit and operate in a very similar way to a charity. We have a paid 4dpw Finance Manager and are looking for a strategic director to advise the board.
What difference will you make?
It will provide additional input to the board's strategic direction and advise on financial matters.
What are we looking for?
A qualified accountant is required. Skills needed are sound financial accounting understanding, an ability to work with non-executive directors as well as paid staff, and preferably some experience of working with membership associations, charities, and/or not-for-profit organisations.
What will you be doing?
- Play a strategic role in advising the board on finance matters and long-term financial arrangements;
- Chair the finance committee which meets four times a year;
- Provide oversight and scrutiny of the accounts and budget;
- Advise on any other matters as they see fit.
