The Organisation: Charity Recruit is proud to be supporting a small, community-focused charity based in Shoreditch that provides free creative clubs and opportunities for adults with learning disabilities, alongside free art clubs for children aged 5. For over 25 years, the organisation has created a welcoming, inclusive and inspiring space where creativity builds confidence, community and connection. Working closely with both children and adults, the charity supports participants through artist-led sessions, exhibitions, outings and meaningful community engagement. As a very small team, every person plays a vital role in shaping the charity's success. This is a unique opportunity for someone who wants genuine variety, autonomy and the chance to make visible impact every single week.

The Opportunity: We are looking for a Charity Programme & Operations Manager to work closely alongside the CEO in a broad, varied and highly rewarding role. This position combines programme delivery, charity operations, fundraising support, digital communications and relationship management. One moment you may be running an art session, the next you could be meeting with a corporate partner in the City, planning an exhibition, writing the monthly newsletter or managing fundraising activity. This is not a traditional desk-based operations role, and it is not purely programme delivery either; it is a true small-charity all-rounder opportunity. The successful candidate will be someone who thrives on variety, enjoys wearing multiple hats, and understands how important both the behind the scenes work and the face-to-face delivery are to the success of a charity like this.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Programme Delivery & Development: Lead and support the delivery of weekly art clubs for children and adults with learning disabilities, plan engaging, inclusive and creative activities, help create a safe, welcoming and supportive environment for all participants, support the development of exhibitions, trips, workshops and creative sessions, build strong relationships with participants, volunteers and families.
  • Charity Operations & CEO Support: Support the day-to-day running of the charity alongside the CEO, manage diaries, bookings, logistics and general administration, coordinate venues, schedules and operational planning, help ensure the smooth running of weekly delivery across all programmes.
  • Communications & Digital: Manage social media platforms including Instagram and Facebook, maintain and update the website, create and distribute monthly newsletters, capture and share content that reflects the charity's work and impact, help strengthen the charity's digital presence and supporter engagement.
  • Fundraising & Partnerships: Support fundraising initiatives including challenge events such as Run for Charity and the London Marathon, help organise exhibitions and fundraising events, build and maintain relationships with corporate partners, law firms, banks and local businesses, attend meetings with corporate supporters and external stakeholders, support outreach and partnership development opportunities.

About You: We are looking for someone with warmth, initiative and strong people skills. Personality and values fit are hugely important in this hire. You do not need to be a professional artist, but creativity, enthusiasm and emotional intelligence are essential. You will likely be: highly organised and naturally proactive, comfortable managing multiple priorities at once, social media and digitally confident, strong with professional communication as well as community-facing delivery, warm, engaging and able to build trust quickly, comfortable working independently in a small, close-knit team, someone who genuinely cares about people and the mission of the organisation.

Experience within the charity, arts or community sector would be highly desirable, but attitude, adaptability and cultural fit will be just as important.

Why Join? This is a genuinely special role within a charity doing incredible work. You will join a flexible, supportive and values-led environment where your contribution will be visible and valued. The role offers real autonomy, meaningful work, strong purpose and the opportunity to help shape the future of the charity. For the right person, this is far more than a job; it is a chance to become a central part of something with real heart.
