Marketing & Administration Assistant
Location: Shoreditch, London
Duration: Temporary for 9 months (maternity cover), with possible extension
Pay: £16.48 per hour plus £1.99 per hour holiday pay (equivalent to full-time annual salary of £30,000)
Hours of work: 2 days per week, ideally fixed midweek days (Tues/Wed/Thurs)
Hybrid: Office-based with occasional flexibility for home working

The charity raises awareness, influences policymakers, and amplifies survivor voices across the UK and internationally. With only two permanent staff members, this is a unique opportunity to contribute directly to meaningful cause.
About the Role
We are looking for a Marketing & Administration Assistant to provide creative and administrative support while the Communications & Marketing Manager is on maternity leave.
This is a varied, junior-level role reporting directly to the CEO, who will take the lead on communications strategy and messaging, and you will support in delivering compelling content, running day-to-day marketing activities, and keeping the office running smoothly.
The role combines creative marketing with practical administration, making it ideal for someone looking to build experience, grow professionally, and learn on the job.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the creation of impactful marketing materials, newsletters, website content, and social media posts
- Assist with fundraising campaigns and events, ensuring consistent use of the charity\’s brand and key messages
- Develop compelling stories and content for funders, supporters, and partners
- Monitor and report on digital engagement and campaign reach
- Carry out office administration including answering phones, handling post and emails, and ordering supplies
- Maintain invoice records and liaise with external accountants
- Arrange meetings, travel, and event logistics
- Provide administrative support to the CEO and external consultants
- Ensure all communications with survivors and partners are handled with the utmost sensitivity and probity
Candidate Profile

About You
We\’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented individual with:

- Excellent written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of social media platforms and design tools such as Canva
- Ability to manage everyday office tasks and respond to queries professionally
- Flexibility, sensitivity, and interpersonal skills to work with survivors and partners
Desirable skills include:
- Experience in marketing or communications within the charity sector
- Graphic design, photography, or video editing skills
- Event organisation experience
- Spanish and/or French language skills
