About the organisation's members
They have 440 members who together hold one third of the assets of the charity sector and make over 40 per cent of the grants given by UK foundations. Together they cover the full range of foundations, from small to large and operating in many different fields of grant-making, including social change, the environment, research, education, across the UK and overseas.
A key leadership role in marketing and communications
The organisation are looking for an experienced and strategic interim head of marketing and communications to lead their marketing and communications function for a three-month period. This role is crucial in ensuring continuity and delivering on key projects while we bridge a resourcing gap.
About the role
You will lead our small, lean, marketing and communications function, overseeing a senior marketing and communications officer and working closely with teams across the organisation.
The focus will be on delivering three projects:
- Annual member conference – Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing and communications plan to maximise engagement and attendance
- Flagship research launch – Support the promotion and dissemination of our research, ensuring it reaches key audiences
- Annual general meeting – Manage all communications to support the smooth delivery of this important event.
Key responsibilities
- Strategic leadership – Oversee and implement the marketing and communications strategy, ensuring it aligns with organisational goals
- Brand management – Ensure consistent and effective branding across all communications
- Digital and content – Oversee website, email and social media content, optimising for engagement, accessibility and SEO
- Data and insights – Use analytics to measure impact, inform decision-making and improve audience targeting
- Stakeholder engagement – Manage relationships with external agencies, suppliers and partners
- Team leadership – Lead and support the senior marketing and communications officer to deliver high-quality work
