Charity People have partnered with a professional leadership body for pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists to help find a technically strong Financial Accountant.
This is a pivotal period of organisation during a period of change and transformation.
Working closely with an exceptional Interim Financial Controller, you will play a key role in financial reporting, tax compliance, systems development and strengthening financial controls as the organisation transitions to a new charitable structure.
Candidates applying for this role must have charity experience.
Due to the urgency of this role, we will be closing the role on 11th August, 2026 morning and interviews will be held on 14th August, 2026 via MSTeams.
Hybrid: Once a week
Duties & Responsibilities
- Support monthly, year-end and statutory financial reporting processes.
- Manage VAT, Gift Aid, Corporation Tax and other taxation requirements.
- Review and strengthen balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls.
- Assist with audit activities and consolidated group accounting.
- Develop finance systems, procedures and SORP-compliant reporting frameworks.
- Working closely with the Financial Controller to lead the audit
Person Specification
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Strong financial accounting experience within a medium-sized organisation or group.
- Knowledge of Charities SORP, consolidations and charity taxation.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Proficient in financial systems and advanced Excel reporting.
- Background in a charity, membership organisation or Royal College environment
Desirable
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
