About the Role – Team Manager

As a Team Manager at Charity Link, you\’ll lead, motivate, and develop a team of fundraisers to achieve outstanding results. Your role is to create an environment where people can thrive – combining clear expectations, consistent coaching, and positive team culture with a sharp focus on performance and compliance.

This is a field-based leadership role where you\’ll spend the majority of your time alongside your team in live fundraising environments—whether that\’s door-to-door in residential areas or at private sites such as small local stores, quieter shopping centres, or garden centres. You\’ll lead from the front, showing what great fundraising looks like while empowering your team to perform at their best.

You\’ll be responsible for all aspects of team performance—from coaching, development, and retention—ensuring that every fundraiser feels supported, valued, and driven to succeed. You\’ll also play a key role in embedding our values, and maintaining high standards of professionalism and compliance.

This position requires regular travel across your region, flexibility to work smart hours (including some weekends), and occasional overnight stays to meet business needs.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, manage, and develop a team of fundraisers to meet and exceed targets.
Deliver daily motivation, clear direction, and constructive feedback in the field.
Onboard new team members, ensuring a smooth and engaging start.
Model productive working habits and demonstrate best practice fundraising techniques.
Conduct regular one-to-one coaching sessions to build skills, confidence, and resilience.
Monitor and manage performance using the Charity Link framework, taking proactive steps to address challenges.
Plan and coordinate team schedules, adapting to maximise results.
Ensure compliance with all charity regulations, data protection, and ethical fundraising standards.
Foster a positive, values-led team culture that supports high performance and retention.
Provide accurate, timely reporting on team activity, results, and development needs.
Support regional and national initiatives, including new campaign launches and training programmes.What We\’re Looking For

Proven leadership experience in face-to-face sales, fundraising, or a related performance-driven environment.
Strong coaching and people development skills, with the ability to inspire and influence.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build rapport quickly.
Organised, proactive, and able to balance multiple priorities.
Resilient and adaptable, thriving in a fast-paced, target-led environment.
Confident with tech tools including Zoom, Teams, and performance tracking systems.Skills & Experience

Essential:

Proven track record in leading a sales or fundraising team to success.
Experience coaching and developing individuals to improve performance.
Strong understanding of sales techniques including negotiation, closing, and objection handling.
Ability to analyse performance data and implement improvement strategies.
High emotional intelligence and the ability to motivate diverse personalities.Desirable:

Experience in the charity or third sector.
Knowledge of both Private Site and Door-to-Door fundraising environments.
Recognised leadership, training, or coaching qualification (e.g. ILM, TAP, CIPD)
