About Us
At Charity Link, we’re passionate about making a difference. As a growing, purpose-driven organisation, we work with some of the UK’s best-known charities, supporting them through high-quality fundraising. Our people are at the heart of everything we do—and that’s where you come in.

The Role
We’re looking for an experienced and hands-on HR Manager. This is a pivotal role combining strategic oversight with operational delivery, supporting both our field-based fundraising teams and head office staff. You’ll initially manage one HR Field Advisor (HRFA), while also covering a second HRFA role during a maternity leave period (Sept 2026 – Sept 2027). Longer term, you’ll lead a fully resourced HR team. You’ll also take ownership of our Learning & Development function—which is delivering induction training to around 200 new fundraisers each year and shaping wider training and leadership development initiatives. This is a role for someone who thrives on variety, enjoys rolling up their sleeves, and wants to make a real impact in a dynamic organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • HR Leadership & Delivery
    • Lead and develop the HR function to deliver responsive, accurate and timely support (“RAPT”)
    • Act as the main point of contact for all HR matters
    • Support managers and employees across field and head office
  • Operational HR (Hands-on)
    • Act as a HR Field Advisor, including:
    • Supporting field managers through meetings and 1:1's
    • Managing absence, sickness and employee queries
    • Overseeing holiday systems and HR inbox
    • Conducting exit interviews to reduce attrition
    • Maintaining HR records and processes
  • Employee Relations & Compliance
    • Advise and coach managers on disciplinary, grievance, performance and absence matters
    • Ensure fair, consistent and legally compliant case management
    • Support best practice and regulatory compliance across the business
  • People Strategy & Culture
    • Drive initiatives to enhance culture, engagement, wellbeing, mental health and EDI
    • Help build a positive, inclusive and high-performing environment
  • Learning & Development
    • Oversee training programmes for new fundraisers
    • Develop and deliver internal training for field and head office teams
    • Support leadership development across the organisation
  • Performance & Organisational Development
    • Partner with senior leaders on performance management and objective setting
    • Identify opportunities to improve organisational effectiveness
    • Support development of HR systems, policies and processes

About You
You’re an experienced HR professional who combines strategic thinking with a hands-on approach.

Experience

  • Proven experience working with senior managers, ideally in sales or field-based environments
  • Strong background in Learning & Development
  • Experience leading and motivating teams
  • Comfortable working collaboratively with senior stakeholders

Skills & Knowledge

  • Up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law
  • Strong influencing and communication skills
  • Able to handle complex and sensitive issues with pace and accuracy
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail

Approach

  • Positive, pragmatic and solutions-focused
  • Calm under pressure and adaptable to change
  • Willing to get stuck in and support operational delivery
  • Service-oriented, with a genuine focus on supporting people

Additional Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence and access to a car

Qualifications

  • CIPD Chartered Member (desirable)
  • Degree or equivalent (desirable)
