Dove House Hospice supports patients with life-limiting illnesses in Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire. They provide exceptional, specialist palliative care to patients, carers, and their families. Last year, they cared for 1,200 patients. Their mission is simple but powerful: to help families make the most of the time they have together, even in the most difficult of circumstances. “It was a moment of grief, yes, but also one of relief. Mum was surrounded by the love and warmth of her family. And as we said our final goodbyes, we knew she was at peace. We are incredibly grateful for the care, the memories, and the love we had shared in those final days while Mum was at Dove House.” - Family member of a patient We are thrilled to be partnering with the fabulous Dove House Hospice, to grow their fundraising team and increase their impact. If so, we would love to hear from you. The Role This a pivotal, brand-new, role that will support the thriving fundraising team. Reporting directly to the Senior Fundraiser, the main purpose of the Community Fundraising and Engagement Assistant is to raise awareness across the region, and increase income to fund vital hospice care. Main responsibilities include: Building rewarding and individually tailored life-long relationships with supporters, to ensure they feel passionate, engaged and invested in the future provision of hospice care. Supporting the fundraisers to develop and promote fundraising appeals including the lottery Engaging, educating, inspiring and introducing new supporters and volunteers Maximising income, using a donor-centric, tailored approach The Person We are looking for someone with exceptional planning and organisational skills and with experience in successfully building and managing relationships. You will need to have excellent time management and prioritisation skills and be confident presenting and networking. You should be able to effectively communicate with a diverse range of people, and deliver engaging talks and presentations. In this role you will be a proud ambassador for the hospice, and have the exciting opportunity to represent them within the local community! Perhaps most importantly, you should align with the hospice values – being passionate, positive and professional. Please note that this role will require a full UK driving license, access to your own vehicle, and involve travel to the hospice and surrounding area. You will also be required to work flexible hours, including occasional evening and weekends.
