Do you have the skills and experience to deliver an effective Economic Crime compliance framework and make an impact at a purpose-driven organisation? We’re looking for a talented Senior Manager to join our Economic Crime team at Charities Aid Foundation (CAF).
At CAF, every one of us contributes to our impact, and as our Senior Manager, Economic Crime you too will play an integral part in what we do. The Senior Manager has responsibility for implementing and maintaining an effective Economic Crime Compliance Framework across CAF business areas. This includes leading on the Economic Crime Risk Assessment as well as drafting and development of policies, standards and guidance. The role holder will act as a focal point for activity within the organisation relating to Economic Crime Risk.
As our Senior Manager, Economic Crime you will:
- Be a subject matter expert on Economic Crime risk and effective systems and controls relevant to CAF.
- Lead on CAF’s annual Economic Crime Risk Assessment and drafting and developing Economic Crime Policies, Standards, Guidance and second line process documents.
- Lead on the handling of escalations and referrals to MLRO and make appropriate recommendations to first line teams.
- Conduct reviews of high-risk customers, transactions, activities and escalate as appropriate.
- Manage CAF’s Country Risk Profile and its use across business areas.
- Undertake horizon scanning and ensure stakeholders remain up to date with relevant regulatory and/or law enforcement developments.
- Support the preparation of the annual MLRO report.
- Produce regular management information (key risk indicators) for reporting and support the drafting of reports to Executives and Trustees including making recommendations.
- Develop and deliver relevant Economic Crime training for first and second line teams.
- Line manage, with particular focus on developing junior team members through regular feedback, mentoring, and creating development opportunities.
This role is for you if you have experience of working in Economic Crime Compliance or have relevant transferable skills and are keen to make a difference to society. We are looking for:
- Significant experience in Economic Crime Compliance, including AML, sanctions, and fraud prevention in a financial services or regulated charity environment.
- Evidence of relevant professional qualification and continuing professional development in Economic Crime (e.g., ICA Diploma in AML, ACAMS CAMS certification, or equivalent).
- Proven written communication skills and ability to explain complex regulatory requirements in accessible terms.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to challenge senior management.
- Adept at problem-solving and decision-making under pressure.
- Experience of line managing direct reports, including conducting performance reviews as well as coaching and mentoring skills.
