Our Street Our Children began in 2012 with a simple but heartfelt mission, to bring hope to children in Nepal who need it most. We’re a small charity with a big heart, working hand-in-hand with local partners to support children who are orphaned, living in poverty, or facing neglect. Our work focuses on education, wellbeing, and practical care, including running a day care centre for Dalit children and providing vital educational support through our homework club. We believe every child deserves the chance to learn, grow, and thrive, regardless of their background or circumstances. Through grassroots action, heartfelt commitment, and the generous support of others, we’re working to open up brighter futures, one child at a time.

We are seeking three new Trustees to join our board. If you have experience in fundraising, marketing and communications, or charity development, your skills could help us grow and help even more children in need. But just as importantly, we’re looking for people who care.

Being a Trustee is a chance to use your time and talents for good, to learn and grow, and to be part of something truly life-changing. Your voice will matter, your contributions will count, and together we’ll be making a real and lasting difference in the lives of those who need it most.

We are seeking:

  • Fundraising Trustee
  • Charity Development Trustee
  • Marketing and Communications Trustee

Trustees commit to quarterly meetings (3 online, 1 in person), an AGM, and attending occasional fundraising events (aiming for at least two a year, many are online and easy to join). You’ll stay informed, support good governance, take on flexible tasks, and help shape OSOC’s future and lasting impact.

We are committed to building a more diverse and representative board. All appointments will be made based on the skills, experience and qualities required for the role. However, we particularly welcome applications from individuals from minoritised ethnic backgrounds and those who are currently under-represented within the board.

For more information, please contact Nick Thomas, Senior Consultant, Charisma Charity Recruitment, nick@charismarecruitment.co.uk or 07897 070219. Your application should include your CV and supporting statement.

We welcome and encourage applications from people of all backgrounds. We do not discriminate on the basis of disability, race, colour, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation, age, veteran status or other category protected by law.

Closing date for applications: Sunday 6 July 2025

Interviews: w/c 7 July 2025

A note from Our Street Our Children
Don’t feel like you meet all of the requirements? Please don’t let that hold you back, we’d still really love to chat. None of us on the OSOC board had been Trustees before we joined. We didn’t have all the answers or tick every box, but we shared a heart for the mission and a willingness to learn, and that’s what truly mattered.

We know how valuable transferable skills can be, and we deeply believe that with the right attitude and a desire to make a difference, so much is possible. Even if you\’re unsure about the fit, we’d love to have a conversation with you.
