Charge Surveys is a family-run traffic survey company that has experienced significant organic growth since our establishment in 2018. As a Traffic Survey Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate execution of traffic surveys across the UK. This position involves the installation, maintenance, repair, and collection of traffic survey equipment, including automatic traffic counters and survey cameras. You will be responsible for preparing and organising equipment, conducting site inspections, and maintaining high-quality standards in your work.

  • Conduct traffic surveys safely and accurately according to specifications set by your survey manager.
  • Install, maintain, repair, and collect traffic survey equipment nationwide.
  • Record short site reports and conduct on-site inspections as required.

Driving License: Full UK driving license and confidence in driving a van long distances on a regular basis (company vehicle provided).

Physical Fitness: Ability to perform labour-intensive manual site work and carry equipment.

Quality Work: Comfortable working independently and outdoors in various weather conditions.

Highway Safety: Comfortable working in and around highway environments.

Computer Skills: Basic computer literacy and ability to perform essential functions on a PC.

This position is based out of our Harlow depot, with considerable travel required to survey sites across the country. Work hours may vary, including early starts, late evenings, and occasional night work. Some projects may require overnight hotel stays. The role operates on an annualised hours contract based on 40 hours per week, with actual hours fluctuating based on survey demand. Overtime will be compensated at a flat hourly rate.

  • Yearly Bonus Scheme: Discretionary bonuses based on company profits and individual performance.
  • Overtime Pay: Available for weekend work.
  • Company Pension: Participation in the company pension scheme.
  • Clean Driving License: Required.
  • DBS Clearance: Basic DBS clearance preferred but not essential.

This position does not allow for remote work; you will be expected to travel daily to/from our Harlow depot to various survey sites.
