Charcoalblue is seeking a forward-thinking ERP System Specialist to play a key role in shaping, embedding, and continuously improving our ERP and project systems ecosystem. The role will suit someone who is passionate about the intersection of data, automation, and project delivery within the Architecture and Engineering or design consultancy space.

Reporting to the Technical Director, you will drive the ongoing evolution of our project systems including our ERP ecosystem - providing integrations, best practice, data analysis and maintenance support, working in close partnership with business leaders and system users. You will drive the development and optimisation of ERP-based dashboards and reports, plus integrations with Excel and Power BI, and explore emerging approaches such as Agentic AI, identifying practical opportunities to automate workflows and enhance decision making where they provide clear business value.

This role offers the opportunity to grow into a recognised systems specialist, shaping how data, automation, and insight support creative project delivery at scale. There is an emphasis throughout the remit on your ability to be highly organized, a strong and proactive communicator, and to deliver reliable and accurate results.

As Charcoalblue continues to grow internationally, our projects, people, and data are becoming more connected and more complex. We have recently adopted Deltek Vantagepoint as our core ERP platform, and we are now at a critical stage where the value of that investment depends on how well the system is embedded, trusted, and evolved. This role exists to ensure our ERP and project systems truly support how we work: turning high-quality data into clear insight, reducing manual effort through smart automation, and enabling our teams to focus on creative, high-value project delivery.

Role Summary

  • The Architect of Data: You will ensure our ERP system (Deltek Vantagepoint) remains the "single source of truth" for project delivery, scheduling, finance, reporting and people processes across our international business.
  • Automation Driver: Working with key stakeholders, you will identify manual bottlenecks and implement automated solutions, including using Agentic AI and integrated workflows.
  • Insight Creator: You will transform raw data into actionable intelligence by building and maintaining sophisticated dashboards.
  • Collaborative Lead: You will translate complex technical concepts into accessible information for our design and engineering teams, enabling a culture of continuous improvement.

What you'll be doing

  • ERP Optimisation & Automation: Serve as the primary internal support for Deltek Vantagepoint, ensuring the system reflects Charcoalblue’s unique operating model and is used consistently across regions. Proactively identify opportunities for automation and integration with other tools (CRM, HRIS). Specifying and implementing ERP processes and automations to streamline routine tasks, data entry, and resource forecasting. Manage ERP upgrades, system configurations, and user permissions with a focus on scalability.
  • Reporting & Advanced Analytics: Design, build, and maintain dashboards and reports that provide real-time visibility into project health, financial performance, and global resourcing. Partner with business unit leaders to interpret data patterns and provide insights that support strategic decision-making. Ensure data integrity through periodic audits, maintaining our high standards and ISO:9001 compliance.
  • User Engagement & System Growth: Provide high-level support for system queries, fostering user accountability and data ownership. Develop "next-gen" training materials and step-by-step guides that support different learning styles across our global regions. Collaborate with the People team to support Deltek Talent, ensuring seamless integration between our HR and project data.

What you'll bring

We value diverse experiences and backgrounds. If you meet most of the criteria below, we encourage you to apply.

  • Essential: 1+ years of experience in an ERP Coordinator, Analyst, or Support role. Direct experience with Deltek VantagePoint is highly desirable. Understanding of Data Visualisation using tools such as Power BI to create complex reports and dashboards.
  • Desirable: Ability to work successfully on own initiative, as well as part of a local and global team. Flexibility and adaptability to changing business needs. Ability to manage and prioritise a diverse workload, sometimes in a pressured environment. Excellent communication skills. The ability to bridge the gap between technical data and creative project needs. Experience in project-based consultancy environments and an understanding of project/resource life cycles. Digital and systems literacy, including experience with data cleansing and SQL. A demonstrable interest in Agentic AI and modern automation approaches, with the curiosity to explore how they can be applied responsibly within business systems. Ability to work across functions with a range of internal stakeholders in a facilitative, collaborative role. Experience working within an Architecture, Engineering, or Design Studio environment is a significant advantage.

Interview Schedule: First-round interviews will be held online via MS Teams, and second-round interviews will be held in person at our London or Bristol Studios in July 2026.
