I am recruiting on behalf of a leading Criminal Defence Law Firm based in Berkshire and London. The firm represents clients in some of the highest-profile and serious offences in the UK. The firm is seeking a 0–2yrs PQE Solicitor who is passionate about criminal law and enjoys attending police stations and Magistrates’ Courts, representing clients at some of the most challenging and vulnerable moments of their lives. The role combines police station and court work with a manageable Crown Court caseload of approximately 10–20 files. This firm will offer the chance to obtain the Law Society's Criminal Litigation Accreditation and Police Station qualification.
Key Responsibilities:- Represent clients at police stations, attending both scheduled and out-of-hours shifts.
- Attend Magistrates’ Court hearings, providing advocacy and client support.
- Manage a growing Crown Court caseload.
- Maintain accurate and thorough case files, with regular file reviews.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
- 0–2 PQE in criminal law.
- Full Police Station Accreditation required; Duty Accreditation preferred but not essential.
- Genuine commitment to criminal law and client advocacy.
- Strong organisational and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure.
- Exposure to high-profile criminal cases in both Magistrates’ and Crown Courts.
