Our Client is seeking a Senior Secretary to join their Employment team, based in Woking. The office is based near to the train station in central Woking and within easy walking distance of the main shops and restaurants. They are a Top Regional Law firm, and one of The Times’ Best Law Firms of 2024.

As a senior Legal Secretary you will provide legal secretarial and administrative support to assigned solicitors and lawyers through internal and external client service. This work will include duties such as liaising with Clients to understand more about their matters, progressing these wherever possible. You’ll work with our lawyers including a Partner and an Associate based at Woking across responsibilities which could include:

  • Administering files to include opening, closing, storage and retrieval, assisting in undertaking compliance matters such as AML
  • Recording of information in the practice management system
  • Drafting of own letters, documents, and forms using case management system and/or Microsoft Word
  • Daily diary management for yourself and other Lawyer/s
  • Making appointments, arranging meetings, booking rooms for clients and colleagues

The role comes with significant responsibility and the suitable applicant will gain exposure to a great range of matters across all things employment. The employment team offers guidance and assistance to individuals and SME (small to medium-sized enterprise) clients on all employment-related issues. We provide these services either on a retained basis or on a case-by-case basis, depending on the client's specific requirements.

Their client portfolio is diverse, spanning a wide range of matters. For instance, our teams may advise senior executives on their employment or service agreements, covering areas like compensation and benefits. We also assist them during their onboarding or departure phases to ensure that their contractual affairs are handled with expertise.

Ideal Candidates must have the following: You will be an experienced Senior Legal Secretary seeking to further your career in the industry, or a Senior Legal Secretary seeking a fresh challenge. Ideally you’ll have some experience gained within employment law, but candidates with experience in other sectors of law within a legal practice will be considered. You should have a passion for excellent client service. Whilst secretarial experience in Employment would be a distinct advantage, we will also consider individuals who have related work experience but can demonstrate a passion for Employment work.
