Surrey based Law firm based in Guildford seeks an Employment Lawyer to join the Employment Team in Surrey. They provide practical and commercially focused advice to both employers and senior executives across a wide range of industries. The team handles complex and high-profile employment matters including restructures, TUPE, discrimination, whistleblowing, and restrictive covenant disputes, as well as strategic HR advisory work.
Working collaboratively with the rest of the Employment Team and the wider Businesses & Organisations division, the Surrey-based team supports a diverse client base including SMEs, larger corporates (seeking City-quality advice without the City price tag), and high-net-worth individuals. Our lawyers are known for their pragmatic and human-first approach; combining technical expertise with a genuine interest in clients' goals and challenges.
Core duties will include:
- Managing your own caseload of both contentious and non-contentious employment work, including advising on HR matters, settlement agreements, contracts and policies, and Employment Tribunal claims.
- Supporting the senior lawyers within the team on complex and high-value instructions, giving you exposure and technical development as you carve out your reputation as an expert in this area of law.
- Maintaining and strengthening existing client relationships, as well as developing new ones, working closely with senior colleagues to deliver on the team's strategic objectives.
- Playing an active role in the delivery of seminars and workshops geared towards providing updates in legislation and training for HR and senior management professionals.
