My Client, a US Law firm based in the city, is looking for a Business Development and Marketing Manager. Core duties will include:
- Develop and implement a marketing plan aligned to firm-wide and practice group objectives in conjunction with the individual partners.
- Assess and pursue flagship conferences, sponsorship opportunities, and speaking engagements that position the firm as thought leaders with desired target audiences.
- Identify opportunities for brand positioning and differentiation in the legal market.
- Monitor marketing ROI, using data and analytics to refine strategy and demonstrate impact.
- Public Relations & Communications: Have pre-existing relationships with key legal and business press; manage media enquiries and press releases. Build strong relationships with the firm's existing agencies.
- Draft and place thought leadership content in relevant publications and platforms.
- Draft directory entries (e.g., Chambers) and liaise with publishers.
- Maintain consistency of tone, style, and messaging across all external communications.
- Oversee the firm's website, ensuring content is accurate, engaging, and up to date.
- Manage social media channels with regular, relevant posts that reflect firm culture and expertise.
- Work with fee earners to generate quality written content, including blogs, insights, and newsletters.
- Explore SEO and analytics tools to drive digital visibility.
- Client Development & BD Support: Support partners in the creation of pitches, credentials, and capability statements.
- Create targeted marketing campaigns to support sector or practice-specific growth.
- Brand & Visual Identity: Coordinate design of marketing collateral, including brochures, presentations, and templates.
- Internal Communications & Culture: Champion internal engagement by producing internal newsletters and firm-wide announcements.
- Support internal stakeholders (Partners & HR) on initiatives such as ESG, charity partnerships, and enhancing the firm's EVP.
- Track PR/media coverage and produce regular reports for management.
- Ensure marketing and communications activities comply with SRA guidance and GDPR.
Ideal candidate must have the following:
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience in a legal or professional services marketing/communications role.
- Experience in PR/media relations in the legal sector.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and strategically, with hands-on delivery.
- Strong writing, editing, and content creation skills.
- Confidently managing projects and engaging with stakeholders and partners.
- Experience of managing external agencies and suppliers.
