Position Overview
The Partnership Success Business Manager will play a key role in supporting the management and optimisation of multi-million pound EV charging infrastructure concessions, focusing on ensuring that the contracts we win are treated as valuable assets that require careful and strategic management. Reporting to the Head of Partnership Success, this role involves:
- Building and maintaining relationships with external partners (e.g., councils) and internal teams;
- Ensuring a successful management of each concession;
- Monitoring compliance with contractual obligations;
- Meeting all reporting requirements.
This role will manage end-to-end commercial performance, negotiations and business planning, including driving profitable reinvestment, delivering P&L targets and shaping long-term growth strategies using insights from our data platform and exceptional stakeholder engagement.
The ideal candidate will have a strong commercial mindset and negotiation expertise, to meet performance targets, excellent organisational skills to implement strategic projects, and the ability to foster effective communication across multiple stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary point of contact for council customers, ensuring consistent communication and alignment across the company.
- In conjunction with our commercial team, maintain annual business plans, track and monitor KPIs ensuring the meeting of those targets and adjusting in life to meet commercial plans, highlighting opportunities that benefit all parties in a partnership model.
- Lead regular (monthly, quarterly, ad hoc, as relevant) commercial negotiations with councils on their concessions, securing sign-off for high-value deals and realising commercial ambitions for all activities related to the contract.
- Implement agreed pricing and promotional strategies through cross-functional teams, ensuring flawless execution and conducting post-implementation reviews.
- Monitor sales performance, availability, and market share using data insights; provide actionable recommendations to maximise volume and value opportunities and shape partner messaging for business reviews.
- Collaborate with Finance, Legal, Commercial, Delivery, Field Services, Procurement and Marketing teams to ensure accurate forecasting, product availability, and compliance with agreed contractual responsibilities and internal guidelines to deliver a flawless service to our customers.
- Drive growth by identifying and unlocking new categories, innovative products, and service revenue streams aligned with char.gy’s strategic objectives, recommending products and initiatives based on partner requests, innovation or exclusivity.
Person Specification
- Strong financial, budget and commercial acumen with the ability to identify and maximise opportunities that deliver value whilst maintaining and protecting relationships with customers.
- Proven experience in managing complex, high-value negotiations with external customers in-person and achieving consistently strong commercial outcomes in line with metrics and goals set with Commercial team.
- Exceptional attention to detail, strong financial and budget hygiene along with strong organisational and project management skills.
- Expertise in partnership management and business planning, including developing and evolving mid-to-long-term plans aligned to commercial, financial and strategic objectives.
- A collaborative mindset and working style, with the ability to engage, influence, educate, lead and manage cross functional teams during the life of the concession.
- Ability to influence and build credibility with senior stakeholders, presenting and gaining support for high-impact initiatives at C-Suite and Board level.
- Skilled in working within fast-paced, matrixed environments, demonstrating resilience and adaptability to change.
- Demonstrable experience in negotiating with local councils/local authority customer, with a solid understanding of market dynamics and industry trends. Experience gained in the Telecommunications, Solar/Wind, Infrastructure and/or EV sectors is preferable.
- Demonstrable track record of delivering against challenging targets and driving results through collaboration and effective stakeholder engagement.
- Technical expertise, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure collaboration for the delivery of the project.
