Position Overview
This is a playerâmanager role, with responsibility for leading the bid function and personally managing high-value, complex bids. The Bid Team Manager will lead and continuously improve Char.gy's bid capability, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, compliant, and compelling submissions that support the company's growth in the public and private sectors. This role combines people leadership, governance, and handsâon bid oversight in a fastâgrowing EV infrastructure business.
Key Responsibilities
- People & Capability Management: Line manage and develop the bid team, providing clear leadership, coaching, and performance management to foster a collaborative, highâperforming environment.
- Bid Management: Ensure all qualified bids have a clear Bid Plan, are actively managed and updated throughout the lifecycle, and are closed out with appropriate submission and governance updates.
- Proposal Management & Content Quality Assurance: Ensure all bids and proposals are strategically aligned, compliant, and compelling. Drive crossâfunctional teams to support content development and ensure submissions reflect customer requirements and a clear winning strategy.
- Bid Governance & Reporting: Ensure all bid governance milestones are planned and delivered with relevant stakeholders. Maintain an accurate bid dashboard showing the live status of all opportunities.
- Bid Process Improvement & Tools: Own and continuously improve the endâtoâend bid process, ensuring compliance with bid requirements and robust audit trails. Develop tools and processes to improve bid efficiency and quality.
- Crossâfunctional Collaboration: Engage and coordinate with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts, ensuring timely contribution and clear approval of bid content.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Certifications: Practical experience applying APMP best practices and certification is desirable.
- Experience: Experience (circa 5+ years) in bid, proposal, or project management, including line management responsibility, ideally within public sector or infrastructureâled environments. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement efficient, scalable processes.
- Skills: Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management, organisational, and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively across crossâfunctional teams and external partners.
