Chapter International is a specialist M&A Advisory and Investment Banking firm focused exclusively on Digital, Consumer & Technology businesses. We advise founder-led businesses across the full transaction lifecycle, with over 70% of our transactions involving US counterparties. Chapter is currently in a high-growth phase and is seeking an ambitious M&A Associate to help scale the next stage of the firm’s expansion.

The M&A Associate will directly contribute to this company-wide goal. The key directive is to drive the new development of our latest vertical, partnering with our Head of Origination and Founder with their efforts. We are looking for an ambitious, driven and commercially minded candidate to join the team. This role is designed for someone who wants exposure to the full lifecycle of a transaction, from sourcing opportunities and building founder relationships through to negotiation, execution and closing.

Unlike traditional investment banking and M&A roles that focus narrowly on execution, this position offers exposure across the full M&A lifecycle including origination, client advisory, buyer outreach, negotiation support, diligence coordination and transaction closing.

Responsibilities
  • Engage actively in both origination and execution phases, while fostering meaningful relationships with entrepreneurs and investors.
  • The role is initially split around 50% origination and 50% execution, over time transitioning to pure execution.
  • Spearhead the development of pitch presentations, teasers, and information memoranda.
  • Develop comprehensive financial models, analyses, and undertake company valuations.
  • Coordinate and execute due diligence processes.
  • Identify industry-specific trends and issues, including financial information and incoming profiles of prospects.
  • Develop and refine client pro forma forecasts, financial models, valuation models as well as other client reports.
  • Manage the entire M&A transaction end to end, specifically from initial data gathering, IM build, outreach, project management, due diligence and closing.
Expectations / Experience Requirements
  • Possess outstanding financial expertise, complemented by exemplary communication abilities and a confident demeanour along with commercial acumen, with ability to pitch our services to prospective business owners; strong interpersonal skills are crucial.
  • Strong work ethic, desire to become a subject matter expert and ability to work under pressure.
  • Critical thinking ability and demonstrable experience of emotional intelligence.
  • Open to international travel and working flexible hours (project dependent).
  • Prior experience within Consumer, Ecommerce, Professional Services or B2B SaaS highly preferred.
Who Thrives at Chapter

This role suits individuals who:

  • enjoy working directly with founders and entrepreneurs.
  • are commercially curious and relationship-driven.
  • want exposure beyond pure financial modelling.
  • are motivated by responsibility and autonomy.
  • thrive in high-performance, fast-moving environments.
  • want to become a complete advisor rather than a narrow specialist.
