Salary: Negotiable depending on skill and experience

Accountability of the role:

  • Transitioning the business from a scale up to a nationally significant pharmacy operations and logistics business
  • Full operational leadership of the pharmacy function, including dispensing, clinical services, patient communications, and fulfilment
  • Regulatory and compliance accountability GPhC, CQC, contractual obligations, and patient safety frameworks
  • Patient outcomes and experience, setting the clinical standards, governance frameworks, and quality metrics that keep patients safe and satisfied
  • Design and continuous improvement of the patient journey from first contact through to medication delivery and ongoing support
  • Commercial performance of the pharmacy operation cost management, and contribution to growth
  • Building, leading, and developing a high-performing, patient-focused pharmacy team
  • Embedding a culture where every member of the team understands how their role connects to patient outcomes
  • Partnering with product and technology teams to build pharmacy tools and experiences that genuinely serve patients better
  • Work closely with the Superintendent Pharmacist and Head of Pharmacy Operations to ensure legal and regulatory compliance
  • Proven track record of full operational ownership at senior level, you have been the person accountable for outcomes, and you have delivered them
  • Demonstrated experience of scaling high-volume operations, you have grown throughput significantly, and you understand what needs to be built to make that sustainable.
  • You need to demonstrate operational and logistics scaling experience of over 150+ staff and utilising technology and new ways of working to achieve scale.
  • Exceptional change leadership, you have guided teams through significant transformation with clarity, empathy, and genuine buy-in
  • Creative and resourceful problem solver, you find smart paths through complex operational challenges and you do not need perfect conditions to start
  • 24/7 operational experience, you have built the systems, the culture, and the resilience that a round-the-clock operation demands
  • Background in high-volume, regulated operations - pharmacy, healthcare, pharmaceutical supply chain, industrial logistics, or equivalent
  • A strong coaching and teaching mindset, you develop capability in your teams and leave every operation better equipped than when you arrived
  • Business owner mentality, you think in outcomes, take personal accountability seriously, and make decisions as if it is your name on the door
  • A visible, on-site leadership style - present, hands-on, and genuinely connected to the operation and the people who run it
  • Direct pharmacy or healthcare operations experience at scale
  • Experience designing or improving patient journeys, clinical pathways, or care models
  • Experience in digital, online, or technology-enabled pharmacy - particularly models focused on patient access and adherence
  • Superintendent Pharmacist experience or willingness to hold SP responsibilities
  • Exposure to patient feedback and quality improvement methodologies (e.g. patient safety incident frameworks, Net Promoter Score in a clinical context)
  • Experience working with product or technology teams to build patient-facing tools
