GGM Group Ltd is looking for an enthusiastic and commercially driven Area Sales Manager to develop Groundscare machinery sales across Yorkshire. This is a new role created as part of our investment in building a more substantial business in Yorkshire, supported by our new Knottingley Service Centre. It is an excellent opportunity for someone with machinery sales experience who wants to develop a territory, build strong customer relationships and represent leading brands within the professional Groundscare sector.
The role is field-based, with regular customer visits across the region and an expectation to work from the Knottingley depot approximately one day per week.
As Area Sales Manager, you will be responsible for developing and managing sales of new and used Groundscare equipment across our product portfolio. You will build relationships with both new and existing customers, carry out machinery demonstrations, promote service agreements and extended warranty products, and work closely with our sales, parts and service teams to deliver a market-leading customer experience.
This role would suit someone with experience in Groundscare machinery, agricultural machinery, plant, turf machinery, commercial equipment sales or another relevant machinery-led market.
What you'll be doing:- Developing and managing sales of new and used Groundscare equipment across Yorkshire
- Building strong relationships with new and existing customers
- Selling to golf clubs, local authorities, contractors, schools, sports clubs, estates, landscapers and grounds maintenance companies
- Conducting machinery demonstrations and explaining product features, benefits and applications
- Promoting Kubota Care 5-year extended warranty and GGM service agreements
- Ensuring machinery is delivered and installed in line with company and manufacturer guidelines
- Completing customer documentation accurately and professionally
- Updating customer information, databases and sales records
- Preparing sales reports and providing market feedback where required
- Working closely with other sales managers, parts teams and service departments
- Feeding back relevant market data, including competitor activity, market trends and business opportunities
- Supporting the sales team at regional and local shows and exhibitions
- Representing GGM Group Ltd, Kubota and other supplier brands with professionalism, positivity and integrity
- Experience in machinery sales, ideally within Groundscare, agricultural machinery, plant, turf machinery, commercial equipment or a closely related market
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Confidence building relationships with customers, suppliers and internal teams
- A self-motivated, professional and organised approach
- Ability to manage a sales territory and develop new business
- Commercial awareness and a strong customer-focused approach
- Confident carrying out product demonstrations and customer visits
- Good PC and Microsoft Office skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to tow trailers as part of the role
- Groundscare machinery experience would be beneficial, but candidates from allied machinery markets will be considered
- Basic salary of £36,000 - £42,000 per year
- Realistic OTE of £46,000 - £52,000+
