With two depots covering the North of England, we are continuing to invest in our engineering team to strengthen service coverage across Merseyside. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys autonomy, variety, and working with a broad range of high-quality machinery.
As a workshop engineer, you will be predominantly depot based, responsible for servicing, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing customer machinery. Working from our fully equipped depot as part of the service and parts teams, you will work on a wide range of machinery:
- Tractors
- Commercial and professional mowers
- Utility vehicles
- Golf course machinery
- Chippers and shredders
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, diagnostics, and repair work on customer machinery.
- Complete pre-delivery inspections (PDI) to manufacturer standards.
- Use modern diagnostic systems and tools to identify and resolve faults efficiently.
- Work closely with the Parts Department to ensure accurate parts identification and ordering.
- Complete all job reports and documentation accurately using electronic systems.
- Attend manufacturer and in‑house training to develop product knowledge and technical skills.
- Ensure all work is completed in line with health, safety, and environmental standards.
About You:
We're looking for a reliable, self‑motivated engineer who takes pride in quality workmanship and customer service. Ideally, you will bring:
- Experience working with agricultural, plant, or groundcare machinery.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Experience working with petrol and diesel engines (Stage V engines knowledge is a plus).
- The ability to diagnose faults and complete repairs independently.
- Confidence interpreting technical manuals and hydraulic/electrical schematics.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication skills and a professional, customer‑focused approach.
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a wider service team.
- Good IT skills for electronic job reporting and machinery diagnostic programmes.
- A full UK driving licence.
Salary & Hours:
£38,000 – £44,200 salary, depending on experience. Overtime available. Full‑time, permanent position Monday to Friday – 42.5 hours per week.
