Branchwalkers Tree Surgery is looking for a qualified Arborist/Tree Surgeon who wants to push their climbing ability, gain experience on more demanding tree work and develop towards Lead Climber/Team Leader level. A large proportion of our current workload involves large tree works, ash dieback removals and dangerous trees. That means regular opportunities to work on bigger dismantles, challenging removals and jobs that will genuinely develop you as a climber.

The role involves working alongside experienced Lead Climbers and Team Leaders across a varied programme of arboricultural work throughout the South East. You'll be encouraged to get involved, climb and progress. As your ability and confidence develop, you'll take on increasingly challenging sections of work rather than remaining someone's second climber indefinitely. The current workload provides particularly strong exposure to large tree removals, ash dieback and dangerous tree work, making this an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to sharpen their climbing, dismantling and decision-making skills.

What you'll get stuck into:

  • Large tree removals and sectional dismantles
  • Ash dieback and dangerous tree work
  • Challenging climbs that develop your ability and confidence
  • Aerial pruning, reductions and removals
  • Working alongside experienced climbers on more technical jobs
  • Increasing responsibility in the tree as your ability develops
  • Commercial, domestic, utility and infrastructure projects
  • Use of professional arboricultural machinery and equipment
  • The opportunity to develop towards Lead Climber and Team Leader level

Why join Branchwalkers?

  • Better climbing experience with exposure to the type of trees and removals that can quickly develop your technical ability.
  • Proper progression with clear development of the next Lead Climbers and Team Leaders as the business grows.
  • More responsibility as you improve, with opportunities to take on bigger climbs and more challenging work.
  • Varied, interesting jobs beyond everyday pruning and maintenance.
  • Become a better climber in an environment that allows for quick progression.

What we're looking for:

  • Qualified climber - CS30, CS31, CS38, CS39
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Someone keen to progress towards Team Leader/Lead Climber level
  • Strong approach to health and safety
  • Reliable, hardworking and a good team player

What's on offer:

  • £32,000 - £37,000 per year
  • Performance bonuses
  • Clear progression into a more senior role
  • Training and development opportunities
  • Company pension
  • Free on-site parking
