About the Role:

As a Natural Construction & Maintenance Operative, you will be integral to the preparation, construction, and maintenance of sports pitches. Tractor operation will be a key part of the position, alongside other practical construction and maintenance duties. This role could be particularly well suited to an experienced farm worker or agricultural operative looking to transfer their skills into the sports turf industry. You will work on diverse projects nationwide, ensuring that each site meets the highest standards. This role involves significant travel and time away from home during peak periods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the team to prepare sites for sports pitch construction and maintenance.
  • Perform natural grass pitch maintenance tasks, including tractor operations, line marking, and fertiliser spreading.
  • Safely operate tractors and tractor-mounted machinery and attachments.
  • Undertake basic groundworks such as ground levelling, kerb laying, and drainage works.
  • Operate construction power tools and machinery, including dumpers, diggers, and tractors.
  • Assist in the laying and installation of natural sports turf and related materials.
  • Carry out basic machinery checks and report any faults or maintenance requirements.
  • Ensure all work methods are followed precisely and maintain a clean, safe site.

Requirements:

Essential:

  • Proven experience operating tractors.
  • Previous experience in farming, agriculture, construction, landscaping, grounds maintenance or a similar practical outdoor role.
  • Flexibility to travel nationwide and work away from home.
  • Ability to operate basic construction tools and machinery.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Full Clean UK Driving Licence.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience as a farm worker or agricultural operative.
