An exciting opportunity has arisen. Turfgrass Agronomy & Services is looking to recruit an Assistant Greenkeeper for a private 9 holes golf course located in Potters Bar, Hertfordshire.
The Role
Responsible for maintaining and enhancing the overall appearance and playability of the golf course. This includes tasks such as mowing greens, fairways, and tees, applying fertilisers and treatments, operating and maintaining equipment, and ensuring all playing surfaces are kept to a high standard.
Hours:
- April and October: 40 hours per week, 6am till 2pm
- May until September: 45 hours per week, 6am till 3pm
- November until March: 35 hours per week, 7am till 2.30pm
- Friday finish at 12.30pm
The Individual
The candidate should have a strong team orientation, work ethic and good communication skills. Additionally, they should be responsible and have a passion for presenting surfaces of the highest quality. The successful candidate will join a team of 5 to consistently present the course to the highest standard.
The successful applicant will receive a competitive salary and benefits package including further training and will report directly to the Course Manager and his Deputy.
What we are looking for:
- Minimum 2 years greenkeeping experience.
- NVQ level 2 sport turf desirable but not essential.
- Spraying licence desirable but not essential.
- Can-do attitude.
- Knowledge of golf.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations.
- Ability to produce and maintain high standards of work.
- Team player.
- Driving Licence.
Turfgrass Agronomy & Services has a modern fleet of maintenance equipment and is continually investing in equipment and the course.
The position
The position is full-time, with a required weekend work rota.
Weekends:
- 1 in 3 in the summer
- 1 in 5 in the winter
