You'll support the Financial Controller and Finance Director in delivering accurate and timely financial information, contributing to monthly management accounts and helping the business make informed decisions. This is a hands-on role with real variety, and an opportunity to help shape how the role evolves over time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Post journals including accruals, prepayments, and depreciation
  • Perform balance sheet and supplier reconciliations
  • Support variance analysis and provide commentary
  • Monitor performance against budgets and forecasts
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Product costing reviews and analysis
  • Support audit requirements and ensure compliance
  • Contribute to improving financial processes, controls and reporting

About You

We're open to a range of backgrounds and career stages. You might be:

What's important is that you bring:

  • Experience in a finance or accounts role
  • Qualified by experience or studies completed to Level 3, or equivalent in, AAT, ACCA / CIMA / ACA
  • Strong Excel skills and familiarity with accounting systems (e.g. Sage)
  • A solid understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Experience in standard costing, overhead recovery and variance analysis in a manufacturing environment (preferred but not essential)
  • Attention to detail and a reliable, organised approach
  • A positive attitude, willingness to learn and desire to improve processes
