A highly innovative engineering organisation operating within the advanced vehicle technology sector is seeking a Senior Electronics Engineer to join its growing product development team. This is an opportunity to work on the design and development of cutting-edge electronic systems used in demanding, performance-critical environments. You'll play a key role in taking products from concept through to validation and production, working alongside software, systems and product engineering teams.
The Opportunity
As a Senior Electronics Engineer, you will be responsible for the development of robust electronic hardware solutions, ensuring products meet the highest standards of performance, reliability and quality. You will be involved throughout the full development lifecycle, from initial concept and architecture through to testing, validation and manufacturing support.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and development of analogue and digital electronic circuits
- End-to-end hardware development including schematic capture, PCB design and prototype evaluation
- Sensor integration, testing and validation
- Development of RF and wireless communication circuitry
- Hardware troubleshooting, fault finding and root cause analysis
- Supporting product verification and validation activities
- Producing technical documentation, reports and design records
- Collaborating closely with embedded software, systems and manufacturing teams
- Supporting FMEA reviews, risk assessments and continuous improvement activities
- Driving Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) best practices
Skills & Experience Required
- Degree qualified in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline
- Proven experience in electronic hardware design and development
- Strong analogue and digital circuit design experience
- Experience working with sensors and data acquisition systems
- Knowledge of CAN or CAN FD communications
- Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools
- Understanding of RF and wireless technologies
- Strong debugging, diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Ability to produce high-quality technical documentation
Highly Desirable
- Automotive, motorsport, aerospace or other high-reliability industry experience
- Embedded systems knowledge
- Experience supporting products through manufacturing and production release
- Exposure to advanced PCB technologies
