Overview
Chapman Tate Associates are working in partnership with a dynamic and growing Managed Services Provider based in Shrewsbury. We’re currently seeking a Lead IT Project Engineer with strong second and third line experience to join their technical delivery team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer looking to take ownership of client-facing projects, drive technical excellence, and play a key role in shaping infrastructure solutions across a diverse portfolio.
The Role
As Lead IT Project Engineer, you’ll be responsible for delivering end-to-end infrastructure projects, supporting escalated technical issues, and mentoring junior engineers. You’ll work closely with clients to understand their needs and implement tailored solutions that align with best practices and business goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of infrastructure and cloud-based projects
- Provide high-level support across 2nd and 3rd line issues
- Design and implement solutions across Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Azure, and networking environments
- Act as technical point of contact for clients during project lifecycles
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth handover and documentation
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical standards
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in a 2nd/3rd line support or project engineering role
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and Azure
- Experience with networking technologies (firewalls, switches, VPNs)
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise effectively
