We are a long-established firm of accountants located in Oxfordshire offering business advice and support to clients in a wide range of sectors. We have an exciting new position for a trainee accountant to join our friendly and professional team this summer. We offer an excellent study package and full support towards achieving an ACCA qualification. This is a great opportunity to join one of Oxfordshire’s leading accountancy practices. This is a varied role and will offer exposure to all areas of accountancy and tax, which is essential for career development and to excel in your studies.

Responsibilities:

As this role is for a trainee position, full training and support will be given to enable you to develop for a long-term career within accountancy. The following work will be included in the role:

  • Producing full sets of accounts for limited companies and sole traders
  • Preparing working papers and reconciliations for the accounts file
  • Preparing corporation tax computations
  • Preparing personal tax computations
  • Using client software for bookkeeping and reporting
  • Preparation of VAT returns
  • Payrolls
  • Preparation of management accounts
  • Liaising with and building good working relationships with clients

Requirements:

  • Relevant work experience would be great but not essential as full training will be given
  • Must be seeking a career in accountancy
  • Numerically minded and good with numbers
  • Positive and confident individual
  • Works well as part of a team
  • Hard working and committed to supporting the firm and our clients
  • Organisational and time management skills
