Chapelfields Medical Centre is seeking an experienced and proactive Business Manager to join our leadership team on a part‑time basis. This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic thinker to play a key role in shaping the future direction, sustainability, and growth of our practice. Working closely with the Practice Operations Manager, Partners, and wider team, the post-holder will support the development and delivery of business strategies, service improvements, and operational efficiencies to enhance patient care and organisational performance.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead on the development and implementation of the strategic business plan
- Identify opportunities for service development, partnership working, innovation and income generation
- Analyse performance data, contracts, and financial reports to inform decision‑making
- Support bid writing, project management, and service redesign initiatives
- Monitor and evaluate KPIs, ensuring alignment with NHS objectives and local commissioning priorities
- Build effective relationships with NHS stakeholders and external organisations
- Oversee governance processes, risk management, and compliance requirements
- Contribute to workforce planning and organisational development

- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Clinical system and primary care programme user skills – SystemOne, Ardens, e‑consult etc.
Experience
- Experience of working in a healthcare setting
- Managing large multidisciplinary teams
- Performance management including conducting appraisals, staff development and disciplinary procedures
- Developing and implementing projects
- Workforce analysis, planning, deployment and forecasting
- Accounting systems and procedures including budget and cash flow forecasting
- Working in primary care and GP practice
Qualifications
- Educated to degree level in healthcare or business
- Good standard of education with excellent literacy and numeracy skills
