At Chapel, we’re proud of the long-standing relationships we’ve built with some of the world’s biggest brands. We’re now looking for an experienced Account Director to lead several of our core client accounts, strengthen those partnerships, and help grow the work in smart, meaningful ways.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a smaller, independent agency environment — someone who’s comfortable managing up and down, balancing creativity with commercial thinking, and being truly hands-on when needed.
As Account Director, you’ll be the senior point of contact for 2–3 key client relationships. You’ll champion great work, challenge briefs where needed, and ensure our teams deliver consistently high-quality creative that meets both client objectives and Chapel’s standards.
You’ll work closely with Project Managers, creatives, and senior leadership to make sure accounts are well run, well resourced, and commercially healthy — while always keeping an eye on what’s next.
What You’ll Be Doing- Client Leadership
- Owning and leading 2–3 of Chapel’s core client relationships
- Building trusted, long-term partnerships and spotting opportunities for growth
- Unpicking briefs, asking the right questions, and constructively challenging clients and creatives to get the best possible output
- Identifying new business opportunities within existing accounts and supporting pitches for new clients
- Project & Team Leadership
- Managing the Project Managers on your accounts and ensuring a consistently high standard of delivery
- Making sure projects are properly resourced and running smoothly
- Line managing Project Managers, supporting their development and progression
- Acting as a calm, confident leader for the team — setting direction, delegating effectively, and maintaining balance
- Finance & Commercials
- Owning revenue targets across your accounts
- Overseeing invoicing, cost of sales, utilisation, and overall account health
- Leading weekly budget meetings with Project Managers
- Monitoring performance, sharing insights, and recommending improvements
- Presenting account performance to Senior Leadership
- Supporting PMs with proposals, scopes, and estimates
- Strong client relationship skills — significant experience working with clients in an advertising, design, or marketing agency environment
- Strategic and creative thinking — able to plan at a senior level and confidently guide creative work
- Excellent communication — comfortable leading meetings, presentations, and negotiations
- People leadership — experience managing and developing teams, with a genuine interest in helping others grow
- Commercial confidence — strong attention to detail, solid financial understanding, and awareness of how agencies run day to day
- A good understanding of creative processes across all platforms
- Experience working in a smaller independent agency is a big plus, as is an understanding of wider agency operations and financials.
