As part of our ongoing growth, we are expanding our kitchen team.

As a vital member of our kitchen team, you will support the Head Chef and Sous Chef with the smooth running of daily operations. Your role is essential in maintaining cleanliness, organisation, and high hygiene standards in the kitchen, contributing to the overall success of our weddings, events, and the Number Nine Restaurant. You’ll play a key part in ensuring our couples, guests, and customers enjoy a seamless and memorable dining experience.

  • Maintain the highest standard of cleanliness and hygiene across all kitchen areas
  • Wash and correctly store all kitchen equipment, utensils, and dishes
  • Assist with basic food preparation under the direction of the chefs
  • Support the kitchen team in ensuring all food preparation areas are clean and organised
  • Dispose of kitchen waste appropriately and keep refuse areas tidy
  • Ensure stock is stored safely and rotated properly (first-in, first-out system)
  • Refill kitchen supplies, including ingredients, cleaning products, and utensils as needed
  • Assist with deliveries, including checking and unpacking orders
  • Follow all food safety and hygiene regulations, contributing to the upkeep of our five-star food hygiene rating
  • Maintain and report on the condition of kitchen equipment to the Head or Sous Chef
  • Work effectively during busy service periods, especially during weddings and events
  • Take direction from senior kitchen staff and work collaboratively with the wider team
  • Uphold a positive and proactive approach, even under pressure
  • Work closely with the Head Chef, Sous Chef, and wider kitchen team to deliver seamless service
  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and respectful kitchen culture
  • Communicate effectively with Front of House to ensure smooth coordination during service

Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a kitchen environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
  • A strong work ethic and willingness to learn

  • Understanding of basic food hygiene and safety standards
