As our school continues to grow, we are delighted to be recruiting two qualified Teaching Assistants.

We are a Complex Needs School for pupils with moderate, severe or profound learning difficulties between the ages of 3 to 19. All pupils have different learning needs; they learn best when they are happy and excited about learning.

Chapel Green School is a supportive, challenging and happy learning environment, where all individuals are respected and encouraged to reach their full potential.

We are looking for qualified teaching assistants and classroom assistants with commitment to develop their skills in the field of Special Educational Needs. You will need to be a team player, calm, patient, have an eye for detail and a good working knowledge of ICT; full training, induction and mentoring will be given.

These posts are needed to enable us to facilitate the induction and inclusion of our pupils.

Your role will be working across a variety of classes and departments in school. You will be working under the direction of the corridor leads and class teacher.

We would encourage applicants with experience in supporting pupils with challenging behaviour, signalong or British Sign Language. However, this is not essential.

The school runs a comprehensive programme of professional development.

Chapel Green School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, satisfactory references, online checks in line with statutory guidance, and all other pre-employment safeguarding checks.

We welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds and are committed to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. To this end, you may be required to undergo pre-employment checks.

This post is likely to come under the requirements of the Childcare (Disqualification) Regulations and the successful applicant will be required to complete a declaration form to establish whether they are disqualified under these regulations.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and you will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS check or Enhanced DBS check with barred list. If you have information to declare it may be protected under the Exceptions Orders and you may not be required to declare it. You will be asked to make a criminal conviction declaration if you are shortlisted for the post. Guidance about whether a conviction or caution should be disclosed can be found on the Ministry of Justice website.
