At CHAP, our pre‑construction team is where projects are won. It is where strategy is built, risks are understood, and plans are prepared that set us apart. We are looking for planners at all levels to join our team and play a central role in shaping how projects come to life before a shovel hits the ground. Whether you’ve just finished university, have transferable skills from another industry, or are currently site‑based and fancy a change into a planning role, we’d love to hear from you. We’re looking for organised, motivated people who enjoy problem‑solving, working with teams, and keeping projects moving. Planning experience is welcome, but not essential; attitude and willingness to learn matter just as much.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Provide planning support throughout the lifecycle of a project.
  • Work with the Pre-Construction Team to fully understand the requirements of a Project.
  • Attend site to investigate programme constraints.
  • Collaborate with Operations team to agree programme parameters.
  • Calculate task durations using industry standards and company outputs.
  • Prepare detailed, resourced (where appropriate) tender programmes based on the tender information.
  • Prepare critical path analysis.
  • Prepare sub contract programmes for tendering purposes.
  • Develop Tender stage programmes to Contract status.
  • Support the Operations Team in the production and monitoring of construction programmes and drop downs on a weekly basis.
  • Provide programme training and support to the wider team.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Problem‑solving mindset with attention to detail
  • Basic IT skills
  • Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable

  • Degree in construction, engineering or related field
  • Experience in construction or civil engineering
  • Previous experience in planning or scheduling tools (e.g. Asta, MS Project)
  • Understanding of construction processes or site experience
