Role Overview
Chaotic is seeking an experienced and motivated HR Manager to lead and deliver a people-focused strategy that ensures effective recruitment, retention, and development of staff. You will oversee HR operations, policies, and compliance while fostering a supportive and inclusive workplace culture.
This role requires balancing strategic HR planning with hands-on operational responsibilities, including employee relations, performance management, and safeguarding best practice. You will be instrumental in supporting our staff while ensuring our HR practices align with Chaotic’s mission, values, and growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
HR Strategy & Operations
- Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and procedures that support organisational goals.
- Ensure compliance with employment law, safeguarding requirements, and HR best practices.
- Manage employee lifecycle processes including recruitment, onboarding, contracts, probation reviews, and offboarding.
- Work closely with Senior Management to design workforce planning and succession strategies.
- Collaborate with Finance to oversee payroll accuracy, pensions, and benefits administration.
Recruitment & Talent Management
- Lead recruitment campaigns, ensuring inclusive practices and effective candidate pipelines.
- Manage job design, role profiles, and salary benchmarking.
- Develop retention strategies and support career progression pathways across the organisation.
- Oversee induction processes to ensure a smooth integration of new staff into Chaotic’s culture and systems.
Employee Relations & Performance
- Act as the first point of contact for employee relations matters, providing impartial advice and resolution support.
- Support managers with performance management, capability processes, and disciplinary or grievance cases.
- Lead initiatives to strengthen employee engagement, wellbeing, and organisational culture.
Learning & Development
- Identify training and development needs across the workforce.
- Create and manage training plans that support staff growth, compliance, and service delivery standards.
- Facilitate workshops, learning programmes, and leadership development.
Monitoring & Reporting
- Maintain HR systems and ensure accurate personnel records, data protection, and reporting.
- Monitor and report on HR KPIs such as staff retention, diversity, absence, and engagement.
- Provide regular updates to Senior Management on HR metrics and workforce insights.
Key Skills & Requirements
Essential
- Proven experience in HR management or senior HR advisory roles.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law, HR policy, and safeguarding requirements.
- Experience in recruitment, employee relations, and performance management.
- Strong communication, mediation, and interpersonal skills.
- Organisational skills with the ability to balance strategic and operational priorities.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.
- Hybrid working flexibility, with the ability to attend the Redhill office 3 days per week.
Desirable
- CIPD Level 5 or above (or working towards).
- Experience within the charity, education, or SEND sectors.
