Channing School is seeking reliable and professional Casual Exam Invigilators to support the smooth running of internal and external examinations from May 2026. The Exams Team plays a central role in ensuring that all public and mock examinations are conducted efficiently, securely and in full compliance with JCQ regulations. Working closely with the Examinations Manager, academic staff, the IT department and facilities teams, invigilators help create a calm and well-organised environment.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise examination sessions and ensure candidates follow regulations.
  • Maintain an orderly atmosphere throughout each exam.
  • Assist with the preparation of examination rooms.
  • Check candidate attendance and seating arrangements.
  • Distribute and collect examination papers.
  • Remain vigilant to uphold exam conditions and prevent malpractice.

Qualifications

  • Organised and attentive to detail.
  • Calm and vigilant in a formal examination environment.
  • Excellent reliability and clear communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Previous experience in a school or administrative environment is desirable; full training will be provided.

Hours

Casual / sessional hours during examination periods (typically morning sessions from 8:00am and afternoon sessions from 1:00pm).
