Channel Commercials PLC is a leading commercial vehicle dealer providing sales, parts and servicing for DAF Trucks, light commercial vehicles and vans in the South-East. An opportunity has arisen at our Strood depot for a Yard Person. This role will support the Strood site with the collection, delivery and parking of company and customer vehicles, and monitoring of vehicles on-site to ensure vehicles are parked safely and yard space is maximised.
- Booking in vehicles
- Brake Tests (full training will be given)
- Liaising with visitors, customers and staff to ensure safe parking is adhered to at all times
- Providing guidance on relocation of vehicles as necessary maximising use of yard space in accordance with site parking rules
- Ensuring vehicles parked on site are not restricting access at any time
- Manoeuvring vehicles in and out of the workshop in a timely manner to ensure they are available for the Technicians to work on
- Checking of vehicles before returning to customer
- Ensuring yard and recycling areas are kept clean and tidy
Essential Qualities include:
- Current driving licence with category C + E
- Previously worked in a role driving HGVs and commercial vehicles
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Ability to use own initiative and work alone without supervision
- Team Player
- Ability to prioritise
- Good face to face communication skills
Desirable Qualities include:
- Previous experience of a Yard Person role
- Experience of dealing with customers
