The predicted salary is between 31200 - 31200 € per year.

Hours: 40 Hours per week, Monday to Friday. 6am - 2.30pm

Channel Commercials PLC is a leading commercial vehicle dealer providing sales, parts and servicing for DAF Trucks, light commercial vehicles and vans in the South-East. An opportunity has arisen at our Strood depot for a Yard Person. This role will support the Strood site with the collection, delivery and parking of company and customer vehicles, and monitoring of vehicles on-site to ensure vehicles are parked safely and yard space is maximised.

  • Booking in vehicles Brake Tests (full training will be given)
  • Liaising with visitors, customers and staff to ensure safe parking is adhered to at all times
  • Providing guidance on relocation of vehicles as necessary maximising use of yard space in accordance with site parking rules
  • Ensuring vehicles parked on site are not restricting access at any time
  • Manoeuvring vehicles in and out of the workshop in a timely manner to ensure they are available for the Technicians to work on
  • Checking of vehicles before returning to customer
  • Ensuring yard and recycling areas are kept clean and tidy

Essential Qualities include:

  • Current driving licence with category C + E
  • Previously worked in a role driving HGVs and commercial vehicles
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability to use own initiative and work alone without supervision
  • Team Player
  • Ability to prioritise
  • Good face to face communication skills

Desirable Qualities include:

  • Previous experience of a Yard Person role
  • Experience of dealing with customers

Location: Strood

Salary: £15ph
