Our Business Operations team is seeking a strong strategy and operations individual to partner closely with Channel 4 Sales team. This is a pivotal role in driving sales rigor, providing actionable business insights, and propelling sales strategy alongside the Sales Leadership team. The Senior Sales Strategy and Operations Lead will engage in a range of diverse and exciting special projects, from designing sales processes to owning key strategic initiatives that will power the growth of Channel 4 revenues.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strategic Collaboration: Partner with Sales, Finance, Product, Marketing, and Ad Ops/Tech teams on projects aimed at increasing sales productivity, operational efficiency, and revenue incrementality.
- Reporting & Forecasting: Develop rigorous reporting and forecasting analyses on a weekly/monthly/quarterly basis to track sales pipeline progress, meeting and pitch velocity, productivity, and growth in existing clients and acquisitions.
- Process Optimization: Build automation and scalability, optimize operational processes, and ensure seamless integration with systems, tools, and technology.
- Rhythm of Business Planning: Lead the annual and quarterly sales planning processes, including the development of business plans in partnership with Sales Leadership, operating models, client segmentation, and resource allocation.
- Go-to-Market Strategies: Develop and recommend strategies for key segments and verticals in close collaboration with senior sales and cross-functional leaders across the commercial team.
- Investment Planning: Build a business vision for sales strategy and structure evolution, and use an analytical approach to identify short and long-term resource needs.
- Market Insights: Conduct strategic market analysis, including competitive landscape assessments, to help formulate go-to-market plans.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
- Significant post-grad working experience with a high proportion of experience working within sales operations, business operations, consulting, investment banking, or similar roles. Experience in TMT, or the digital advertising industry (ideally TV/Video) is preferred.
- Advanced analytical and data-manipulation skills, with hands-on experience using tools such as Power BI, SQL, Excel, Python (for data analysis/automation), and CRM/operational data platforms (e.g., Dynamics, Salesforce, HubSpot) to extract, transform, and visualize complex datasets. Extensive experience using Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Experience working across multiple business units, especially sales and finance, with a proven ability to influence across functions and collaborate for successful program implementation.
- Strong strategic thinking and business intuition, excellent analytical skills with a structured problem-solving approach.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
