Job Description Job Title: Senior L&D Partner Reports to: Head of Talent and Learning Department: People Job Grade: L2 Location: Manchester Status: Permanent Department Description The People Team looks after the ones who work here, making sure they are properly rewarded, and their potential is realised. Talent and Learning and Internal Communications sit within the People Team and are specialist Centres of Excellence. They look after Recruitment, Talent Management, Performance Management, Learning and Development and Internal Communications. The Talent Acquisition team looks after all the recruitment and talent activities, while the small L&D team looks after the rest of talent development activities. The Internal Communications team looks after the Leadership Group events, all-staff briefings and communications as well as internal communications media. The teams work across all the business areas and provides support the People Business Partners to ensure that our people are supported, developed and engaged to enable the channel to continue delivering on its remit. Job Purpose The role of Senior Learning & Development Partner plays a pivotal position in shaping Channel 4’s Learning programmes, performance management and coaching initiatives. This role demands an experienced Talent and/or Learning professional to contribute strategic thinking with a passion for fostering a culture of continuous learning and development across the Channel. They will partner with Execs and Senior Leaders across the business but particularly in the regions. KEY RESPONSIBILILITIES Partner with Channel 4’s Executive Team, senior leadership and the People Partner team to identify learning and development needs across departments and create bespoke training solutions. Lead the design and implementation of performance management approaches that promote employee growth and align with organisational objectives, such as the Fast Forward Strategy. Bring innovation and energy to raising organisational performance through initiatives such as quarterly conversations. Develop and deliver strategic coaching and mentoring programmes to enhance leadership capabilities and employee performance. Drive a commercial, inclusive, supportive, and progressive culture by partnering closely with and supporting and influencing senior managers and Executives across specific divisions within the business. Play a pivotal role in ensuring that our Channel 4 behaviours [Include, Innovate, Grow and Get it Done] underpin everything we do across the People function, a as well as working with Senior Leaders across the business to ensure that everyone is familiar with the behaviours and that they are well embedded. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of development programmes, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement. Serve as a trusted advisor to Senior Leaders in the Channel, offering expert guidance on performance management strategies and practices. Facilitate workshops and training sessions for example to develop management skills and our Learning at Work Week to build skills and competencies throughout the organisation. Stay abreast of the latest trends in learning and development, incorporating innovative approaches into our strategies Be prepared to roll up sleeves to deliver training and /or coaching Be familiar with our Learning Management System and be capable of standing in for the LMS administrator during periods of leave or absence Initiate digital learning solutions and create curriculum solutions for the business ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE & SKILLS Excellent PowerPoint design and creation skills and presentation skills in person and virtually Able to demonstrate a digital first mindset and associated skills Superlative facilitation skills Relationship building skills Knowledge of key organisational behaviour theories and approaches. DESIRABLE SKILLS Great customer service skills and the ability to communicate at all levels. Understand when to work at pace and when there is a need for sense of urgency Operates well and is comfortable with ambiguity/change BEHAVIOURS Understands and is passionate about the C4 remit Innovate: Adapts well to changing conditions and new ways of thinking Include: Great team working but the ability to work individual. Hybrid Working From September 2023 employees will be working minimum 3 days per week in their office location. The other 2 days should be working from home. This is to create more time for collaboration, creativity, learning and feedback. We also have a working from another location policy for up to 10 days. This pattern is subject to future changes which would be communicated in advance to provide employees with adequate notice of any change.
