Apprenticeship Programme

Our apprenticeships are full‑time, with four days per week spent working in a C4 department and one day per week completing the formal learning parts of the apprenticeship. You’ll spend 60% of your working week in your office base and 40% working from home. The formal training provided will consist of workshops, tutorials, webinars, coaching and, in some cases, residential boot camps.

Eligibility

  • You must be 18 years old or over at the time the scheme starts to apply. There is no upper age limit.
  • You’ll need to have a Grade C (4) or above in Maths & English GCSE.
  • You can’t have already completed the qualification being offered or a similar one at the same or higher level.

Department Description

The Media team sits within Channel 4’s marketing division. It is responsible for managing the owned media promotional strategy and allocation of owned inventory across the 4Network. The team ensures that all viewers on our streaming platform receive the most relevant promotional campaigns, boosting engagement and viewership. They collaborate with data and insights, editorial, marketing, 4Creative and other partners to make the most efficient campaign planning decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up promotional campaigns for streaming within our campaign systems and ad‑server, in accordance with Promotional Priorities determined by Marketing and Media Planning.
  • Check trail legal certification and suitability.
  • React to changes in the schedule and update trails accordingly.
  • Liaise with 4Creative Production and Marketing.
  • General team assistant duties.

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Verbal and written communication skills – experience of dealing with customers or working in a team, writing emails, applications or essays, or creative writing.
  • Attention to detail – e.g. cashing up on tills or proofreading coursework.
  • Organisation skills and ability to prioritise tasks – planning events for personal or professional purposes, managing work‑life balance, while studying.
  • Understanding of and passion for Channel 4’s remit.
  • Confirmation of Maths & English GCSE Grade C (4) or above.
  • Good knowledge of Channel 4’s channel portfolio, services and remit.
  • Enthusiastic and willing to learn new skills.
  • Desire to take responsibility and work on own initiative.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Basic salary per annum starting from £24,328.00
