Department Description: Channel 4 Streaming is Channel 4's video‑on‑demand proposition, home to original and exclusive shows, box sets of iconic series, as well as live and catch‑up TV from C4's broadcast channels. Available as an app on over 20 different platforms including mobiles, tablets, PCs, TVs and games consoles, as well as being syndicated to the likes of Sky and Virgin, Channel 4 Streaming reaches over 6 million monthly viewers and has more than half of all 16‑34 s in the UK as registered users. The Streaming Product & Growth department is responsible for creating the best possible user experience that is seamless and engaging, as well as overseeing the growth of Streaming across the business. The C4+ Team is tasked with driving sign‑ups, retention and revenue through the 4+ proposition, our premium paid tier which offers viewers the chance to watch ad‑free and get early access to shows. Channel 4+ is a strategic priority and called out as a key part of our future streaming strategy.

Job Purpose: This role will focus on identifying ways to grow C4+, working with our Squad. As our Squad sits across multiple business areas, you will be a point of clarity, providing clarity on audience and propositional hierarchy and leading sync planning and coordination across all of our C4+ activity, with a particular focus on times of change (e.g. pricing changes, product changes) to maximise impact across our channels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive cross‑channel strategies to drive member acquisition, engagement and retention – working with our channel experts to drive alignment and maximise opportunity across their respective plans.
  • Lead market intelligence and insights for the C4+ proposition by driving competitive research, market trends, segmentation, personas, and ideal customer profiles.
  • Work closely with audience insight to ensure teams deeply understand our target customers and know how to attract and retain them.
  • Create clear product messaging and positioning that maintains differentiation, provides clear reasons to become and stay a member and enables effective and compelling campaigns for our channel leads.
  • Collaborate and coordinate activity with our cross‑functional squad – including product, marketing, audience optimisation and audience insight – to develop and implement tactical and strategic plans to improve paid acquisitions and to ensure we capitalise on through‑the‑line opportunities with cohesive, aligned plans.
  • Deliver go‑to‑market planning and business readiness for C4+ changes, including pricing and promotional strategies and collaborate across the organisation to ensure successful launches.
  • Regularly review campaign and launch results across our team to understand effectiveness and optimise accordingly.
  • Keep abreast of our content schedule, identifying opportunities for C4+ members.
  • Oversee the C4+ sign‑up experience to ensure it aligns to our messaging hierarchy and campaigns – working closely with marketing, product and experimentation to optimise and test variations of the journey to increase conversion.
  • Require comfort with Adobe analytics.

Essential Experience & Skills:

  • Strong analytical skills, able to compile performance results and interpret data into actionable insights and activity.
  • Proven track record in product marketing, preferably direct to customer, with good understanding of LTV and ARPU metrics and ability to work cross‑functionally.
  • Good understanding of digital marketing and media channels, including experience of working with technical teams to deliver digital experiences/products and hands on experience of using CRM/marketing tools to build campaigns.
  • Project management experience will be necessary to coordinate change and launch activity across teams; has worked in creative industries, able to think creatively as well as analytically.
  • A strong knowledge of data protection and permission‑based marketing.
  • Obsessive about data and using it to provide compelling evidence, used to analysing data using self‑serve.
  • Consistently displays excellent communications skills.
  • Good at presenting information in a concise and engaging fashion.
  • Proven experience of developing relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Naturally curious and enjoys exploring new ideas and possibilities.
  • Likes getting stuck into a problem and coming up with solutions.
  • Highly organised, self‑motivated and able to manage a diverse workload.
  • Passionate about the C4 remit and content.

Desirable Experience & Skills:

  • Digital subscription business experience.
  • Has run multivariant testing, can plan test hypotheses and interpret results.
  • Experience running marketing sync plans and planning cycles.
  • Experience working with e-comm tools to optimise conversion.
  • Comfort using Adobe analytics.

Hybrid working: From September 2023, C4 has operated a 60/40 working pattern, equating to three office days per week. Employees then have the flexibility to decide where they spend the rest of the working week. All our offices are open five days a week.

Basic salary per annum starting from £51,844.00
