The predicted salary is between 55000 - 75000 £ per year.

The Technology department is responsible for establishing, monitoring, and maintaining information technology systems and services to enable business users to carry out their roles efficiently, productively, and securely. The department must stay at the forefront of technology change to meet multiple business requirements, provide secure IT infrastructure, and proactively support strategic growth opportunities.

The Business Analyst will support the Zeus programme. This role involves working within project delivery teams, completing varied Business Analyst activities to support programme delivery. The role holder will have an appreciation and understanding of OTT media applications and services and will work with all relevant stakeholders, including Product, Architecture, UX/Design, Technical Leads, and other BAs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Requirements Gathering And Documentation: Work with internal and external stakeholders and subject matter experts to capture and document business requirements at both high and detailed levels. Use appropriate techniques to lead the elicitation of requirements from stakeholders, both technical and non-technical. Ensure a consistent approach to requirements development and management using best practices. Proactively ensure project requirements are signed off by key senior Business and Technology stakeholders. Solicit and document High Level and Detailed Requirements using different techniques as required by the project. Document information models and system integrations. Document Current State/Target State process maps that span multiple business areas.
  • Analysis and Decision-Making: Advise key internal stakeholders on the results of analysis, including presenting options to enable appropriate decision-making. Play a leading role in gap analysis against package-based systems. Play a leading role in the production of business case and business benefits documents.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Act as a key liaison between business units, technology teams, and external partners. Facilitate workshops with internal and external stakeholders and Technology teams. Work with external software vendors throughout the development lifecycle on requirements/functional specs/HL Designs/requirements tracking for UAT and Test. Support architects in the production of HL Designs and solutions. Provide leadership, training, coaching, and guidance to junior staff.
  • Development and Testing: Produce and manage user stories, screen flows, sitemaps, wireframes, user scenarios, and functional specifications used by developers, designers, and the test team. Work with internal teams to detail screen and data flows as well as data structures. Lead the requirements verification process, ensuring that requirement statements are complete, consistent, concise, traceable, verifiable, and conform to defined standards. Lead user acceptance testing and coordination. Own reviews and showcases of developed products derived from the requirements. Ensure alignment between business needs and technical solutions throughout the project life cycle.
  • Project Management: Provide a breakdown of tasks and associated estimates to produce deliverables and proactively raise risks and issues to the Project Manager where identified. Provide regular progress updates against tasks to the Project Manager.
Essential Experience & Skills
  • A minimum of 5 years proven experience as a Business Analyst with at least 2 years in a senior or lead capacity, ideally within a technology environment in broadcasting, media, or a similar industry.
  • Experience of the full software development delivery lifecycle for technology projects from requirements and design through technical delivery to implementation.
  • Experience in analysing usability and workflow efficiencies and making recommendations for improvements.
  • Experience in developing business cases, process modelling (e.g., BPMN), and impact assessments.
  • Highly organised and analytical with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present ideas verbally and in writing.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills, with the acumen to be aware and act on any issues that need to be reported.
  • Good facilitation skills and strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to judge when things need to be escalated.
  • A self-starter with the ability to self-manage workload.
  • Proven experience in managing across several concurrent workstreams and activities.
  • Ability to prioritise and plan own workload, managing deadlines and other constraints.
  • Proven team player who enjoys working with and supporting colleagues.
  • Can handle autonomy and be fully trusted to work to shared goals.
  • An analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills and focused on getting things done.
  • Able to break down complex activities into manageable activities and tasks.
  • Creative with the ability to find innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • Experience of Agile software development approach and the Jira product is desirable.
  • Understanding of the full project life cycle from requirements capture through to implementation and delivery.
  • Business Analysis, Agile and/or Project Management certifications beneficial.
Desirable Experience & Skills
  • Familiarity with Broadcast Media Technologies and Operational processes, with particular focus on Media supply chain and Scheduling systems.
  • Knowledge of VOD/Broadcast domain.
  • Experience in creating sitemaps, wireframes, and creating functional specifications suitable for teams to work from.
  • Knowledge of information design, information science, and Human-Computer Interaction (HCI).
  • An understanding of user-centred design processes.
  • Proven experience of RFP’s, RFI submissions, and related lifecycle activities.

Basic salary per annum starting from £67,813.00
