Overview

The centralised Events & Engagement Team supports Channel 4’s reputation externally through world-class stakeholder engagement activities. The team designs, builds and delivers an events and engagement strategy across the organisation, ensuring sustainability and inclusive best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Departmental Leadership & Strategic Planning
    • Build strong relationships with assigned departments and work closely with Channel 4’s Executive Management Board and relevant Heads of Department.
    • Attend departmental meetings, provide updates and conduct 1-2-1 meetings with key senior leaders.
    • Proactively implement creative event and engagement solutions and take leadership briefings where appropriate.
  • Event & Engagement Design & Delivery
    • Drive the events and engagement strategy within the assigned departments.
    • Design and deliver event and engagement experiences to fulfil objectives in collaboration with the relevant department.
    • Includes ideation & design, budgetary management, supplier/resource management, technical production, talent sourcing, sustainability and inclusion initiatives, guestlist management, and post-event analysis.
  • Team Working & Skills
    • Collaborate with the broader Events & Engagement team to support the full range of corporate and stakeholder events.
    • Foster relationships with support departments (e.g., Internal Communications, Health and Safety, Workspace, 4Creative).
    • Direct line management and development of team members; identify opportunities for upskilling and knowledge sharing.

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Exemplary stakeholder management and engagement skills at a senior level with experience in Corporate & Commercial contexts.
  • Proven experience planning, producing and managing complex stakeholder events (including virtual/hybrid) from conception through post-event analysis.
  • Excellent knowledge of venues, industry trends and event suppliers.
  • Experience managing suppliers/contractors, negotiating prices, and handling complex event budgets.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under pressure, work independently and be self-motivated.
  • Strong attention to detail; able to manage multiple complex events in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, computer literacy (Office), numeric skills, and social skills.
  • Understanding of D&I and sustainability within events.
  • Evening and weekend work, plus UK travel may be required.
  • Knowledge of the UK advertising market and the media agency/client model.

Desirable Experience & Skills

  • Experience working with high-profile individuals.
  • Direct experience in the UK advertising industry in a B2B marketing or events function.
