4creative is Channel 4’s in-house creative agency. We’re about 40 people, who write and produce risky, innovative and culturally potent work across all Channel 4 brands and services.

JOB PURPOSE

As part of the design team you will be responsible for exceptional creative work for the Channel 4 family of brands. You will need to work closely and collaboratively alongside the creative teams, project managers and producers, working and inputting into the creative concept and bringing a broad set of references and multidisciplinary skillset. You will work autonomously to shape the look and feel of our output from proposal deck to the delivery of final assets, which will include a broad output from poster campaigns, digital assets, channel branding and internal/partnerships activity.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As part of a small design team reporting into the Head of Design, you will be responsible for shaping the look and feel of a variety of projects. You will participate from the briefing stage, understand projects' strategic goals as well as the creative ambition and apply your design skills to help meet them both. You will bring relevant and viable references and concepts to build on the creative team’s campaign idea. You will be responsible for shaping the look and feel of the work, creating a campaign brand toolkit that flexes across all required touchpoints including creating mock-ups, briefing external partners, managing retouch and creating and delivering final assets. You will be able to present your work in a clear, confident and engaging way to both internal teams, marketing and commissioning colleagues and external partners.

  • Contribute to and enhance the studio culture.
  • The role should understand how creative outputs impact the wider marketing, brand strategy, and audience engagement objectives.
  • Awareness of how design decisions affect other functions (e.g., commercial partnerships, digital product teams).
  • Involvement in cross-functional projects where design choices influence campaign effectiveness, audience reach, or revenue outcomes.
  • Participation in discussions about how creative work supports organisational goals (e.g., aligning with Channel 4’s remit and brand positioning).
  • Exposure to metrics or KPIs (e.g., engagement, brand perception) and adapting design strategies accordingly.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience within a respected creative agency.
  • Experience working on both large and small projects with a keen interest in branding.
  • A portfolio showcasing a strong level of conceptual thinking and design craft.
  • Experience designing for and applying brands digitally and in print.
  • Enjoy pushing boundaries and being creatively disruptive in line with Channel 4's remit and personality.
  • Be committed to celebrating difference and representing an inclusive and diverse society.
  • Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
  • Experience working with motion designer(s) an advantage.
