Job Title: Social Strategist (12 month maternity cover) Department Overview 4Studio drives Channel 4’s digital acceleration, creating and distributing compelling content across social and digital channels to build engaged audiences and deliver large-scale digital views. Job Purpose The Social team within 4Studio aims to enhance Channel 4’s social media presence. We seek industry-leading Social Strategists to bridge the gap between Channel Teams, Press, and Sales, leveraging data and editorial insights to inform strategic decisions across platforms including YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Threads, and Snapchat. Key Responsibilities Develop and manage content strategies: Lead data-driven and editorial strategies for TV shows across platforms, including content volume, platform selection, and resource allocation. Strategic planning and briefs: Collaborate with senior team members to devise and communicate comprehensive social strategies aligned with 4Studio goals. Cross-team representation: Advocate for strategic platform and content choices in cross-business meetings. Trend awareness and innovation: Stay ahead of social media trends, tools, and content innovation, working with analysts and community managers to maintain a competitive edge. Best practice communication: Establish and promote social media best practices within the organization. Autonomy & Judgement Operate with a high degree of autonomy, advising on strategic decisions. Work effectively within a multi-city team, providing updates and insights remotely. Utilize data to inform insights and stakeholder communication. Lead in social media innovation and platform partnerships. Diversity and People Skills Empathetically connect with diverse audiences, promoting inclusivity. Manage stakeholder demands with professionalism and persuasion skills. Explain complex ideas simply, including to senior management. Measurement & Reporting Collaborate with analytics teams to produce performance reports. Use insights to refine strategies and report on campaign outcomes. Experiment with new audience insights tools and methodologies. Apply lessons learned to continuous improvement. Essential Skills and Experience Proven ability to devise impactful social strategies and inspire teams. Experience using insights and social measurement tools to enhance content and revenue. Successful stakeholder engagement and content innovation. Experience with diverse content and audiences, particularly for Channel 4 and E4.
