The Streaming department is responsible for the strategy, development and operation of our digital streaming platform, delivering high-quality on-demand content to audiences across multiple devices and markets. The team drives innovation in user experience, content delivery and platform technology, ensuring our streaming service remains competitive and aligned with evolving consumer expectations. Working cross‑functionally with Technology, Marketing, Content and Editorial, Commercial and Insights, the department is at the forefront of digital transformation enabling the business to reach new audiences and maximise engagement in a rapidly changing media landscape as part of our Fast Forward strategy.

The Performance Analyst plays a key role in supporting teams within the Streaming Product & Growth department to optimise performance activity to deliver critical Streaming KPIs and objectives. These objectives include driving Streaming growth, building long‑term sustainable Streaming audiences and growing diversified revenue through C4+ membership. The Performance Analyst will work with business leaders and campaign owners to understand underlying performance drivers and mitigation or optimisation action required, create and manage the latest view of performance based on activity forecasting and measurement, and size opportunities to inform prioritisation and to maximise business outcomes. They will work closely with the Audience Insights and Finance teams to draw on Insights and deeper Analytical support where needed, and support the business leads in inputting into Finance and wider Channel 4 processes including forecasting, budgeting and KPI setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake daily and weekly activity and campaign forecasting and evaluation to create a real-time latest performance view, and understand whether mitigating and optimisation action is required, in order to deliver key Streaming KPIs.
  • Undertake daily and weekly customer journey, funnel and cohort analysis, to understand the impact of activities and campaigns on customer engagement and behaviours, and inform further optimization.
  • Work with the Channel 4+ team to undertake Pricing and Proposition analysis, creating the business case and commercial value comparisons to determine a recommended course of action.
  • Work with and support Streaming Product & Growth LT and their teams to identify new opportunities and initiatives.
  • Undertake commercial assessment and evaluation of initiatives, including business casing, calculating ROI, opportunity sizing and KPI projections, to inform prioritisation of investment and effort, and strategic decision‑making.
  • Undertake benefits tracking and measurement activity to assess the impact of actions taken, and derive insights that inform further performance optimisation.
  • Support and feed into regular Streaming Business performance processes, including capture of Risks & Opportunities, to ensure the latest view and underlying drivers are understood and connected to C4 Streaming KPIs and value.
  • Assist and input into key Financial and wider C4 processes including Forecasting, Budgeting, KPI setting and longer‑range strategic planning.

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Data analysis and reporting - strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data, track KPIs, and generate actionable insights.
  • Financial acumen: experience in financial modelling, forecasting and business case development.
  • Commercial performance management - proven experience in managing and optimising commercial performance within a digital or streaming environment.
  • Digital media/streaming knowledge - In-depth understanding of the digital media landscape, streaming platforms and monetisation models (e.g. ad-supported, subscription, partnerships).
  • Use of measurement, analytical and reporting tooling to manipulate and visualise data and extract insights e.g. Adobe Analytics, PowerBI.

Hybrid Working

From September 2023, C4 has operated a 60/40 working pattern, equating to three office days per week.
