The Role

As a Managing Consultant you will lead and assure complex consulting programmes across local authority Children’s Services, SEND and Education. You will combine delivery leadership, client relationship management, people development, and commercial stewardship – driving impact and value for clients while growing our CS&E practice.

What would be expected of me as a Managing Consultant?

  • Delivery Lead large projects or multi‑workstream programmes that improve outcomes.
  • Quality assure delivery, establish governance and unblock issues.
  • Steer and oversee analysis and insights.

Client relationships & influence

  • Build trusted, influential advisor relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Lead high‑impact C-suite engagement and executive presentations.

People leadership

  • Line‑manage, mentor and coach colleagues.
  • Create high‑performing teams and role‑model our values and leadership principles.

Practice & proposition leadership

  • Develop existing CS&E propositions and pioneer new approaches.
  • Contribute to thought leadership and market presence.
  • Manage partnerships and engagements commercially, identifying opportunities to drive greater value.
  • Utilise your network in Children’s Services to cultivate new opportunities to create impact.
  • Lead proposals and ensure strong commercial governance.

The ideal candidate(s) will have proven people management skills and bring a passion for developing colleagues across Channel3. You will provide ongoing coaching and mentoring and support our team’s learning and development and general wellbeing. In addition, you will have:

  • Significant experience in Children’s Services, SEND and/or Education.
  • Strong consulting toolkit: problem‑solving, programme management, communication.
  • Credibility with senior stakeholders.
  • Evidence of partnership growth and new business development.
  • Robust commercial acumen.
  • Inclusive people leadership.
  • Understanding of statutory frameworks and inspection regimes.
  • Recognised delivery and change qualifications.
